Build Your Dreams: BYD Auto

Claiming to be the world’s largest automaker by 2025 and aims to be the country’s biggest passenger car maker before 2015, BYD Auto, a Chinese automobile manufacturer was established in 2003. BYD Auto is actually part of a parent IT Company called BYD co Ltd. It is based in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, China. They basically manufacture cars that are small and environment friendly. BYD, which stands for build your dreams, began selling the world’s first mass-produced plug-in hybrid vehicles and more over plans to mass produce affordable electric vehicles in time to come.

The BYD auto was established when the BYD Co Ltd, the parent company which deals in rechargeable batteries, took over the Shaanxi Qinchuan Auto Company Limited. In contrast with their other counterpart like Americans, Japanese and the European auto manufacturers, BYD Auto produces almost all components used in the vehicles itself. 16 April 2005 saw the announcement of the formal offline of BYD Auto’s first new car, F3, in Xi’an.

BYD auto began the export of their cars to other foreign countries by year 2006 and as of 2009 BYD auto exports their vehicles to South America, Middle East and Africa. BYD also plans to extend their horizons as it aims to enter the European as well as the Israeli markets and also hopes to sell their cars in United States of America.

Some of the vehicles that BYD auto is famous for are as follows:

BYD F 0:

The BYD F0 is peanut shaped car with a fluid headlamps and a distinct grille. The front and the rear bumper can prevent the car from distortion when there is collusion under the speed of 5 km/hr. The interior of BYD F0 has a special designed tachometer with white-LED instrumentation that comes out of a blue background. It is a subcompact streetwise car that is intended to provide lots of fun in your daily driving. BYD F0 is extremely agile car for parking, making lane changes and for U-turns. It fitted with a BYD371QA engine and can go up to a top speed of 151km/h. BYD F0 has fuel capacity of 30 litre or 8 gallons.

BYD F3:

With a streamlined and smoothly trimmed classic body of the BYD F3, it is an utterly attractive car. On the interior side, the BYD F3 is equipped with a self- luminous dash board which is available as one of the standard configuration. The BYD F3 is powered by an off the shelf Mitsubishi engine and it is one of china’s best selling self developed car. BYD F3 has a tank capacity of 50 liters or 13.2 gallons.

BYD F6:

BYD F6 has an elegant and a muscular exterior and a well equipped interior. The interior of F6 is fitted with a voice navigation system, cruise control system, and independent control of dual zone automatic air conditioning. The F6 has a Mitsubishi engine and with a top speed of more than 185 km/hr, it makes the BYD F6 a well deserved B-segment car.

BYD S8:

The BYD S8 is curvy hard top convertible which has features similar to any sports car. An S8 design has been forged elaborately by BYD Automotive Engineering Institute and it is intended for a coupe and a convertible. The insides of the car have front six directional adjustable seats, waist support with adjustable safety headrests. BYD S8 offers a light colour and red- black series for customers in respect to interior decoration. It is powered with a BYD engine with 138 hp it maximum speed is more than equal to 180km/hr. The BYD S8 is 5 manual transmissions and has a tank capacity of 50 litres.

BYD e6:

BYD e6 is a purely electric car which has totally new concept of transportation. The e6 features the latest frame integral construction with the battery pack well protected in a safety cell that’s fully integrated into the vehicle. The BYD e6 is a five seater and a family oriented car. It is fitted with a permanent magnet type synchronous motor and can go to a maximum speed of 140 km/hr. BYD e6 is capable going to a speed of 100 km/hr in less than 14 seconds.
