While Fisker Coachbuild provides exclusive design services for Fisker Automotive, Quantum Technologies is to provide the latest technological advancements exclusively for all Fisker Automotive vehicles. Some of its investors are Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Qatar Investment Authority and Eco-Drive (Capital) Partners LLC.

Having worked for renowned car companies like BMW, Ford and Aston Martin, veteran auto designer and Fisker Automotive CEO Henrik Fisker, says that the design philosophy of fisker is to create stunning, emotional and exciting designs that incorporate an essential balance between graphics, sculpture and proportion to create a sense of classic beauty. In 2006, through a blend of extraordinary striking design and world class engineering, Fisker Coachbuild delivered the first two automotive products under his own name- the Tramonto and Latigo CS. These set the footing for Fisker Automotive’s claim to fame: the Fisker Karma 2010. The Fisker Karma is a plug-in hybrid luxury sports sedan revealed on 14 January 2008 at the 2008 North American International Auto Show.

Fisker Karma 2010 fuses the legendary styling of a classic GranTurismo with the green technology of a hybrid. It runs on Solar energy derived through the continuously formed glass solar panel roof, the world’s largest on a car. This is an industry first and slated to be a standard feature of all future Fisker sedans. In signature Fisker style, the exteriors feature a continual flow of sculpture and remarkable proportions. The interiors center on sustainable design held accountable to the environment. The controls and instrumentation focus on ease of use.

As reported by BusinessWeek, Fisker Automotive Inc. plans to introduce four new models in the United States by 2011. It plans to launch the Karma Sedan in 2009 followed by the Karma Convertible a year later. Two other models are also on the agenda. The company intends to develop a third model based on the Karma platform and an all-new entry-level model. It plans to build the next-generation plug-in cars, under a program called Project Nina, which are expected to reach showrooms by 2012.
