Macaroni Salad
What is Macaroni?
It is machine-made dry pasta. It does not contain any eggs and is hollow, shorter than spaghetti. It is usually made commercially. It is an ingredient of many cuisines and salad. One example is the Macaroni Salad.

The recipes of four of the above types have been given below.
Recipe 1: Classic Macaroni Salad
Classic Macaroni salad is made with chopped vegetables, hard – cooked eggs and a seasoned Mayonnaise dressing. The following recipe can serve four.
Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked macaroni, drained, rinsed, cooled
- 2 hard-cooked eggs, chopped
- 1/4 cup chopped celery
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 1/3 to 1/2 cup mayonnaise or salad dressing
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon prepared mustard
- pepper, to taste
Steps
- Use one-third cup of Mayonnaise and mix all the ingredients well.
- Adjust seasoning to taste.
- Cover and keep in the refrigerator before serving.
Recipe 2: Simple Macaroni Salad
Ingredients
- 1 package macaroni
- 2 red bell peppers, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 1/2 cup chopped green onions
- 1 stalk celery, chopped (optional)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1 packet dry vegetable soup mix
Steps
- Add salt to a pot of water and boil. Cook the macaroni for about 8-10 minutes.
- Drain and rinse with cold water. Transfer to a large bowl.
- Stir with red bell peppers, green bell pepper, olive oil and celery.
- Mix in Mayonnaise and soup mix.
- Keep in fridge for few hours.

Recipe 3: Creamy Macaroni Salad
Ingredients
- 1 package. corkscrew macaroni, cooked 3/4 done
- 1 cup shredded carrots
- 1 cup green pepper or celery or both (chopped)
- 1 onion (chopped)
Mix cooked macaroni with vegetables.
Dressing
- 2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup white vinegar
- 1 can condensed milk
Mix all of the above dressing mixture over hot salad. Chill and serve.
Recipe 4: Tuna Macaroni Salad
Ingredients
- 1 cup sm. macaroni shells
- 6 and 1/2 oz. can tuna
- 1/4 cup pickle relish
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup Russian salad dressing
- 1 tbsp. lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. Pepper
Steps
- Cook macaroni shells.
- Drain thoroughly.
- Break up Tuna in a large bowl.
- Add cooked shells and pickle shells.
- Blend mayonnaise, salad dressing, salt, pepper and lemon juice.
- Mix all ingredients.
- Cool and garnish with sliced hard boiled eggs.
The above recipe will serve four.
Recipe 5: KFC Macaroni Salad
Ingredients
- 7 ounces Box elbow macaroni
- 2 Ribs celery minced fine
- 1 tablespoon Dry minced onion
- 1/3 cup Diced sweet pickles
- 1 1/2 cups Fat free Miracle whip
- 1/2 cup Fat free mayo
- 1/4 teaspoon Black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon Dry mustard
- 1 teaspoon Sugar
- Salt to taste
Steps
- Combine everything.
- Referigerate before serving.
All of the Macaroni salads are not tough to prepare. They are nutritious too. After trying for the first time, you would like to make again and again. Even a few substitutions can add more taste to the Macaroni salads. They are tasty as well as very easy to cook.
