

The Nintendo Wii is a gaming software like the Xbox 360 and the play station which are its competitors. The reason why it is named Nintendo Wii is because the Wii with the two i’s in small case represents two people or two players who are coming together. The word is also pronounced as “we” so that also represents that the Nintendo Wii is accessible to everyone.
As compared to the other gaming software, the Nintendo Wii is the smallest in size and is also the sleekest till date. It measures only 44 mm wide, 157 mm tall and 215.4 mm deep when placed vertically. It can be placed either way- horizontally or vertically. The Nintendo Wii also has a stand which measures 55.4 mm wide, 44 mm tall 225.6 mm deep. Apart from the Nintendo Wii being the smallest gaming console till date it is also the lightest. It weighs only 1.2 Kg.
The main accessory of the Nintendo Wii is its wireless remote. It is a pointing device and works on the motion sensor technique. It has an in-built accelerometers and infrared detection which allow it to sense its position when it is pointed at an LED screen. The wireless remote or controller of the Nintendo Wii is connected to the console using Bluetooth. It also has an internal speaker and other features like rumble. The remote also has a wrist band which is attached to the device so that the player can play without worrying about dropping the remote.
The Nintendo Wii has a Wii menu, which displays the channels in the grid, form such that using the Wii remote one can easily surf through the channels. The Nintendo Wii is backward compatible. The Nintendo Wii has the Nintendo DS, which allows it to support wireless connectivity. Using this, the player can use the Nintendo DS touch screen and microphone. The Nintendo Wii also can connect to the internet. It has an in-built 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi. It can also use a USB-to –ETHERNET adapter.
The memory storage of the Nintendo Wii has a capacity of 512 MB or megabytes, which is an internal flash memory. It also supports an SD card slot for external memory storage.
The Nintendo Wii accessories include extra controllers which include a Wiimote and a Nunchuk which are usually used for Wii Sports games like boxing and tennis. The Nintendo Wii can support four extra controllers. The Wii zapper connects both the remote and the Nunchuk and can be pointed at the screen and can be used exactly as the remote. The Wii wheel is used for racing games and it gives an exciting and fun gaming experience. GameCube memory cards allow you to save the game on it. The other accessories include Louisville slugger baseball bat, ever last boxing gloves, ever last 2lb dumbbells, ever last 3″ aerobic step and the prince tennis racket. These gadgets also work using the motion sensing principle. The Nintendo Wii also has the Wii fit plus which brings together both fitness and fun. It has the aerobic step, which again uses the motion sensor. It helps with all the exercises and also personalizes the exercise routine. The Nintendo Wii is a revolution to the gaming world and a true treat to all the players in the world.
