RUF Automobile GMBH
In 1923 RUF Automobile GMBH was founded by Alois Ruf Sr.. It is a automotive industry company having its Headquarters at Pfaffenhausen, Germany. Rufs uses Porsche bodies and chassis and when a chassis arrives then Ruf installs many of their own-made parts, the German government recognizes the company. RUF is mostly popular for their CTR Yellowbird. RUF is considered to be the biggest company who makes Porsche tune-ups and their main rival is Gemballa from Leonberg, Germany.
It is said in 1923 when company was formed it was started in a service garage and was slowly and gradually it expanded to include a full-service gas station. In late 1940’s Ruf started experimenting with its own vehicle designs and later in 1955 it designed and built a tour bus, which was marketed around Germany and it was a success which helped Ruf in expanding his business again and later he even started his own bus company.
Seeing Alois Sr. ’s involvement in the auto industry it affected his son, Alois Ruf Jr., In 1960 he started servicing and restoring Porsche automobiles from his father’s garage and became a great sports car enthusiast. In 1974 when Alois Sr. expired, Alois Jr. dedicatedly took control of the business and took a decision of ending the bus company, service garage and gas station and focused entirely on work with Porsche vehicle. In 1975, around a year later the first Ruf tuned Porsches appeared for sale.
Since then the company has reached heights by producing exceptionally powerful and exclusive Porsche based vehicle. Ruf made many Models namely 2007 RGT, CTR3, CTR (also known as the CTR Yellowbird), CTR2, CTR3, RGT, BTR, Turbo R, R Kompresso, RTurbo, Rt 12, 3400S, 3600S, RK Coupe/Spyder, eRuf Model A.
Ruf CTR “Yellowbird”, its Production started way back in 1987 and it’s a Successor Ruf CTR2. It has 2-door coupé Layout Rear-engine, rear-wheel drive. Its Transmission is 5-speed manual with Wheelbase 2, 273 mm (89. 5 in) and length, width, height 4, 290 mm (169 in), 1, 775 mm (69. 9 in) and 1, 311 mm (51. 6 in) respectively. Its Curb weight is 1, 170 kilograms (2, 579 lb).
The eRUF Model A is an all-electric sports car and it has a top speed of 225 kilometers per hour (140 mph) and even its capable of making 150 kW (201 horsepower) and 479 lb-ft of torque (650 Nm).
Between 1995-1997 Ruf CTR2 was produced and its Successor is Ruf CTR3 Its body style include 2-door coupé and Rear-engine, all-wheel drive in addition its Transmission is 6-speed manual plus Wheelbase is 2, 271 mm (89. 4 in). Length, width and height 4, 290 mm (169 in), 1, 735 mm (68. 3 in), 1, 300 mm (51 in) respectively. Its Curb weight 1, 381 kilograms (3, 045 lb).
RUF RGT is a sports car also know Porsche 911 GT3 was Produced 2000-current having Body style 2-door coupé and with RR layout. The Transmission 6-speed is manual. It has Wheelbase 92. 5 in (2, 350 mm) Plus Length, width, height 174. 4 in (4, 430 mm), 69. 5 in (1, 765 mm) and 50 in (1, 270 mm) respectively in addition it has Curb weight of 2, 932 lb (1, 330 kg).
