Green Day

Green DayGreen Day is an American rock band. It was formed in the late 1980’s in California by two fourteen year olds Billie Joe Armstrong and Mike Dirnt (born Mike Pritchard) they named it Sweet Children. Their very first show was at the barbeque joint Rod’s Hickory Pit in October 1987 in Vallejo, California.

U2

U2U2 is a rock band formed in Dublin, Ireland. The band consists of Bono at vocals and rhythm guitar, The Edge on guitar, keyboards and vocals, Adam Clayton on the bass guitar, Larry Mullen Jr. on the drums and percussion.

In 1976, the band formed at secondary school as teenagers with limited musical proficiency. Within four years, they signed with Island Records and released their debut album. Steve Averill, a punk rock musician and friend of Clayton, suggested potential names from which the band chose “U2″ for its open-ended interpretation. (more…)

The Who

The WhoThe Who‘ is an English rock band formed in 1964, primarily consisting of guitarist Pete Townshend, vocalist Roger Daltrey, bassist John Entwistle, and drummer Keith Moon.

The Who‘ stand alone in the annals of rock history. Though musically self proclaimed “Maximum R&B” and technically they were Mods, ‘The Who’ were also the godfathers of punk, the pioneers of rock opera, and among the first rock groups to integrate synthesizers.

Jacksons 5

Jacksons 5There were Beatles previously, it’s Jackson’s 5 now. The greatest disappointment for a music band’s fans is the breakup of the band, mostly due to the personal ego problems amongst the band members.

The only beacon of hope for the fans is that the members would rejoin. God extinguished the very flame of this beacon when it called for Michael Jackson to the Heavens and shattered the hearts of the millions of Jackson 5 fans all across the world. (more…)

Queen

QueenFormed in 1971, Queen are a British rock band with songs such as ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’, ‘Somebody to Love’, ‘We Will Rock You’, ‘Another One Bites the Dust’ etc, to their credit.
